JOIN THE MAINE PACK
Our services cater to every kind of dog. Our goal is to provide care and training that satisfies each dog mentally and physically. We provide peace of mind and take the time to teach owners tools and techniques to get a more balanced and better behaved dog.
My Story
My first dog I got on my own was rescued from the NYC ACC. I had no background in dog training besides helping raise my family's dog we got when I was in the third grade. When I started to see bad behaviors arise in my new dog, I was surprised and felt helpless. I gave her a good home with a comfortable bed, good food, freedom, what more could I provide?
I reached out to several trainers for help, and we had some very bad experiences, but we also had some positive and inspiring experiences.
From those experiences, I took a leap of faith and signed up for a seminar taught by two of the top trainers on the east coast. This seminar changed everything I thought I knew about dog training and quickly changed my life's trajectory.
I found out that even though I was giving all the love, treats and freedom I could give, to a dog that previously had none of that, it was not what she needed. I learned that dogs thrive when given structure and clear communication from a strong leader. Even though most dogs are more comfortable as followers, I realized she had stepped into the role of the leader because no one else did. I started to see improvements in her behavior and obedience after I began implementing the new tools and techniques I had learned. When I saw the positive affect proper training could have on my own dogs, I began my journey to help humans and dogs better their relationships the same way.
Through these events, I was lead to my first training seminar with Blake Rodriquez of Dream Come True K9 and Tyler Muto of K9Connection. I continue to attend seminars, including Jeff Gellman and Nelson Hodges. I am constantly learning from other trainers and new methods, while continuing to build my own style and system.
The Mission
Goals and Purpose
The Maine Pack was created to be the place that any owner, and any dog can come to for help. We understand that most dogs have needs that are not going to be met by your local kennel or trainer. Our purpose is to provide you with a place you feel confident bringing your dog. Whether it is for a comprehensive Board and Train program, a Training Day for a spruce up, or boarding, you can trust that your dog will be taken care of. Besides training and caring for your dog, we will provide you with the information and tools you need to succeed with your dog when you go home together.
My Services
Creating Balance
Private Training
Accommodating Your Lifestyle
If your dog needs help with a specific physical or behavioral issue, a private training session may be a great option for you. This is the option for the owner and family who is willing and has the time to put in the work necessary to be successful in changing or creating the behavior you want. My goal in this session is to show you how to start and give you the information you need to make real changes.
Training Day
Daycare but Better
Our training day service is for the dog and owner who need some guidance with things such as socialization, walking on the leash, confidence, or how to deal with a high energy dog. This is a great outlet if your dog struggles with being home all day and has pent up energy.
Boarding
Structured boarding with a home feel
If the kennel environment causes you or your dog stress, anxiety, or fear, The Maine Pack facility is your place to go for peace of mind. It has a home feel but it is not a free for all where your dog could pick up bad habits. We provide structure and boundaries, then allow playtime and socialization with proper manners. Even if your dog has had no formal training, we find they pick up the routine here quickly and do better when given clear direction. Your dog will enjoy a clean place with structured walks, socialization, exercise, and downtime while boarding. We work with your schedule to make it as easy as possible to drop off and pick up your dog when you are traveling, working, having guests, or any other reason!
Board and Train
Intensive retraining
We provide 2, 3 or 4 week board and trains. This is for the dog who has more serious issues. As well as the family who doesn't have the time to do the work themselves to change any unwanted behaviors. This is a chance to 'press the reset button' for the dog.' It takes less time to implement the new lifestyle for the dog when coming from someone who they haven't previously had a relationship with. After the training, the transition home is more seamless now that the dog knows what is being asked.
